In this one-hour journey, Sardinha (sardine) leaves the can and dresses smartly to see the exclusive Chiado area: the clothes, candy and ice cream shops, the bourgeois old cafes, attended by writers and artists; Bertrand - which is the oldest operating bookstore in the world - the São Carlos National Theatre or the Filigree Museum.
Then we go to São Roque church, see the Gloria elevator and the magnificent view of São Pedro de Alcântara. Sixty minutes still give us time for a stroll in the garden of Príncipe Real, before passing by the bohemian Bairro Alto and the crowded Camões Square, a meeting point of locals and foreigners..
The sardines end high with the historic and romantic Largo do Carmo, the Santa Justa elevator and Rossio.
