Évora's historic centre is one of the most monumental in Portugal, earning it UNESCO World Heritage status in 1986 and the nickname Museum City. On the way from Lisbon to this historic city, you can enjoy the beauty of the bucolic plains of the Alentejo.

In Évora, after visiting the medieval walls, we'll take a walk through one of the most remarkable Roman cities in Lusitania: Ebora Liberalitas Julia. We'll visit the Roman Temple of Diana, the impressive Chapel of the Bones in the Church of St Francis, Geraldo Square and Évora Cathedral, the largest medieval cathedral in the country.

Local gastronomy is one of the great attractions of this region. Évora is the ideal place to be introduced to traditional Alentejo food, which has pork and lamb, but also bread, on its base. 

This tour has several optional stops, one of which is a visit, by reservation, to a famous Alentejo wine cellar, where you can learn about the wine making process and taste some of the best wines to be found in the Alentejo. If you would like to do this, please let us know in advance so that we can make the reservation.

Another option is a trip to the Cromeleque dos Almendres, 12 km west of Évora. This is the most important megalithic monument of its type in the Iberian Peninsula and one of the most important in Europe, not only for its dimensions, but also for its state of conservation.
