What to expect

On this tour, we visit Sintra - a unique place in the world, the first “Cultural Landscape” to be inscribed as a UNESCO Cultural Heritage Site.

Travel with comfort and safety; learn with insight provided by our friendly guide. Have free time for lunch. Small-group tour limited to 7 people ensures a personalized experience. English will be the reference language if the group includes speakers of several languages.

In ancient times, Sintra was a place of prehistoric cults and rituals. In the 19-century, it became the ultimate exponent of the romantic ideal, materialized in the stunning Pena National Palace.

The king D. Fernando II was able to transform the ruins of a monastery into a castle, where the new sensibility was expressed through the use of Gothic, Egyptian, Islamic and Renaissance elements, and the creation of a natural park that combines local and exotic essences.

Visit the village of Sintra, where you can taste the region's famous sweets -Travesseiros and Queijadas. If you choose to do a private tour, you may visit here Quinta da Regaleira, one of the most surprising, mysterious and magic of all Sintra’s monuments.

After Sintra, we head to Cabo da Roca - the westernmost point of the European continent - where you can be amazed by fantastic photographs of the fabulous views, where "the land ends and the sea begins".

On the way to Cascais, we continue to ride along the coast past beautiful Guincho Beach, a surfer's paradise. Arriving at Cascais, admire the charm of this former royal summer village and enjoy a walking tour by the bay or the elegant cafes of the city.

On our return to Lisbon, we also go through Estoril, where Ian Fleming had inspired during World War II to create the 007 James Bond character, the most famous spy in the world.

If the tour is cancelled because the minimum number of travellers isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.
